I am interested in simulating ac power signals that can be measured using a protection relay. The relay uses current transformers that pick up 1-5 amps and voltage transformers that measure ~120V range. Scaling factors within the relay then simulate real world-conditions in terms of magnitudes (13 kV, 69 kV, 138 kV…and so on).
Would the 3800 be able to produce 1-5A currents and ~120 V output for this application? If not, is there a similar device out there that has an ethernet port that can deliver these signals at a moderate price?
I think the 3800 specs show ~5V, 1.8A capability. Perhaps 5V will work, but I would need to investigate further.
