Can we change the XBee firmware once it is uploaded?

I am using Xbee PRO S2B module and using xctu software I configured PAN ID, DH and DL. While writing firmware into the module I selected the “ZIGBEE ROUTER/END DEVICE ANALOG IO” as a function set by mistakenly and written successfully to the modem. Now even if I open the xctu I couldn’t find the module. Again I checked the pins of Xbee module using multi meter and the TX and RX of the module got shorted. Is there any remedies for my mistake?

Yes, just use the recovery function in XCTU and manually select the modem type, function set and version.
