can xbee form a network having different pan id?if not why?

hi friends

i am using xbp24 series xbees.

i want to know about can we make any arrangement so thst we can make a xbee network having different pan ids.

if it is possible please anybody clarify it.

Of course you can have 2 or more meshnetworks with different PAN ID. They can all co-exist on the same channel/frequency even.

However, if your question is ‘Can a single XBee be on 2 different PAN at the same time?’, then the answer is no. This is because (like your Ethernet port MAC address), the RF processor in the XBee can hold only a single PAN ID which it uses to match/accept/reject incoming messages.
