i have downloaded the driver for my serial to usb converter and followed the steps given in the instructions. but when i go to device manager and go to the rs232 device it says there is no driver and when i go to the folder that the driver is supposed to be in to find the driver the only thing that is there is a folder labeled advanced.
Hello @dshantal, in this case I’d recommend going to Device Manager and right-clicking the device you see there, and hit Install. Its likely the Windows driver you’re looking at, which isn’t the appropriate driver for your product in this case.
Once your product has been uninstalled, make sure your Edgeport/1 is DISconnected from the PC/Laptop, then reboot it.
The driver you’ll want to install is found here, so after the Laptop/PC is back up, run the file you’ve downloaded, and from the C:\edgeport drivers directory which is created, run Setup.exe.
Finally once all of the above is completed, please reconnect your Edgeport/1 device to the PC or Laptop. Device Manager should look something like this when complete:
