Digi XBee XR PRO compatibility with old Digi XBee 9XTend modules

We have a legacy product using the Digi XBee 9XTend (PN: XT09-SI), we need to manufacture new units, we were looking into using the XBee Pro SX (PN: XBP9X-DMUS-001), which can be programmed with the XB9XT XTC hoppping firmware to be made compatible (source:
XBee Pro SX compatible with XBee Pro XTend? ). But we learned that the XBee Pro SX is discontinued. Can we program the new replacement (Digi XBee XR PRO, PN: XBP-9XR-US-001) with the XB9XT XTC hoppping firmware to be made compatible with the original Digi XBee 9XTend modules?
