Edgeport 2+2i with Vista

I’m getting “the system cannot find the file specified” error. I have disabled uac but still no luck. I try to update to the files your article recommends but it tells me windows could not find driver software when I point it to the file. What do I need to do?

Hello,

Try this:

  1. Unplug the Edgeport from the computer.

  2. Remove the Digi Edgeport installation disc from the computer (if applicable).

  3. Download the latest Edgeport driver package from the link just below then extract it somewhere convenient, i.e. a new folder on your Desktop.

http://ftp1.digi.com/support/driver/40002537_h.zip

  1. Go to the folder where the .zip file was extracted, open the file “edgeport.cab” and extract the file “edgeport.exe” somewhere convenient.

Note that you may need to configure Windows to show file extensions in order to see the .cab and .exe file extensions.

  1. Right-click on “edgeport.exe” and select “Run as Administrator” from the menu. Click the Advanced tab, click the Uninstall button, then reboot the computer when prompted.

After Windows loads, connect the Edgeport. If you get a found new hardware, browse to the location where the above .zip file was extracted. Otherwise, you may have to manually update the driver through Windows Device Manager, by right-clicking on the Edgeport component(s) then choosing “Update Driver Software” and manually browsing to the location of the driver (where the above .zip file was extracted).

Does this help?
