ESXi Serial Ports via network to TS

I’m trying to use a TS8 as “com” ports for Windows VM’s running under ESXi 4.1.

I’ve configured the ports as “TCP Socket” and I’ve configured the serial port on the VM host as “telnet://192.168.10.5:2001”

No joy.

Has anyone successfully done this?
