How do I eliminate double conferences when the network connection is unreliable.

I am using Raytheon ARA’s to convert to SIP. When the network drops out for less then 30 Secs, AstaeriskNOW assumes the device is still active. Then the device reconnects to the conference causing the device to be in the conference multiple times and the audio sounds like it is motorboating. Any advice would be appreciated.
