I have an AnywhereUSB 8plus device and I want to use it from clients on 2 different VLANs - I want to assign one VLAN to one client and the other VLAN to the other Client and configure the network the device is connected to as a TRUNK port using VLANIDs and 802.1x.
This way the AnywhereUSB device will look like it is on each of the VLAN networks. This is pretty much the same as how you would assign a VLANID to a VM on a hypervisor.
When you say client, I presume you mean some computer (whether physical or virtual) that has the AnywhereUSB Manager software installed on it, is that what you mean by client?
Thanks for the direction – I was on the same track, however my result seem inconsistent with what I was expecting.
I have configured 3 VLAN but when I switch the switchport to trunk mode – none of the IP addresses on the respective VLANs are pingable, also cannot reach ports 443 and 18574.
The arp table on the server (where I am running AnywhereUSB Manager) reflects the IP and the Device MAC.
I suspect that because all three VLANs are registering the same MACs it is causing issues with my switching.
It looks like some troubleshooting will be required to solve this, that said I suggest opening a support case by emailing tech.support@digi.com (and referencing this forum post URL).
