Installing Anywhere USB/2 on VMWare host - Windows 2003 standard SP2

I am having a problem installing Anywhere USB/2 on Windows 2003 standard SP2.

I am able to get to the point to using the utility and connecting to the Anywhere USB/2, however in Device Manager, the RealPortUSB Host Controller is showing with an exclaimtion mark on it.

even tried removing the drivers and installing the latest drivers form the digi.com website

any help appreciated
