when i install my anywhereusb/5 on my vm 2003r2 server it is not working. There is no any USB port in Device Manager.
I Copied “usbd.sys_” from orignal CD and paste it in “c:\windows\system32\drivers” (or c:\winnt\system32\drivers for Windows 2000), then rename the file to “usbd.sys”. And rebooted the system and reinstall the anywhereusb dirve. But there still no usb port detected on device manager.
Did you click the Connect button in the AnywhereUSB Configuration Utility? If so, what does the text say, at the top-right, in the Connection Status area?
I would like to pick up this broken thread. I have the same situation. USB/2, Server 2003 R2 Standard, VMWare. Under the Device Manager USB Controllers - RealPortUSB Host Controller has a yellow exclaimation point (Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing.) I’ve reloaded is a several times with no different results. The top right Host PC Connection Status: Connected to this Host PC Driver Status: Connection Successful to Remote Hub at 10.123.240.66. No USB devices work with the USB/2 and when plugged in, the indicator remains off.
If the error code is 39 then the issue is somehow related to the “usbd.sys” file. I would suggest trying other versions of that file, either from other Operating System discs (related to the same OS) or even from other computers running that same OS. After changing that file, be sure to reboot the computer so that it takes affect.
The problem was solved by reinitializing the USB options for the VM within Vcenter and reinstalling the software\driver. Once this was completed and the server rebooted, everything appeared good to go.
Try connecting USB mouse and USB keyboard to the USB port of USB and check what it says in device manager.
Try updating device with newer firmware and driver
