Level translator under XBee series 1

Hello,

I am looking to retrofit an existing 5v board with an XBee Series 1 module.

I am planning to use the TI TXB0104 level transltor for to interface with an embedded processor running at 5V.

The only convenient place to put the translator is directly under the XBee module on the PCB.

Does anyone have experience with placing a potentially noisy level transltor under the module?

I have done this and selmaware does the same thing with the appbee boards without a problem. The engineers at digi have said that it is not a problem as long as the noise does not get into the voltage supply lines.
