Micro SD card 2gb for RCM3910

Hello,

I have recently acquired a RCM3910 module and I am not able to find a micro SD card of 1GB . Accordingly to the documentation, the maximum allowed capacity for SD cards is 1GB, but nowadays it is very hard to find such a low type.

Is there any possibility of using 2GB micro SD cards on the RCM3910 module? I do not mind loosing half the capacity of the 2GB card.

Thanks in advance.

I had this problem with our RCM4300’s… and I just posted to another thread about it five minutes ago…

Check it out for the details, basically I found a workaround to get a 2GB card to work, by deleting the primary partition and creating a new 1GB partition, then re-format. Not so easy with Windows 7 to delete the partition on removable media - I used the command line “diskpart” utility… I’m sure there must be some third party software that can do it easier. It’s working for me so far anyway! The “diskpart” utility has not the most user friendly interface, so be careful not to accidentally delete your PC hard drive partitions!

UPDATE: did not work… well, it worked for a few days then became corrupted, and have not been able to get it to work again. Read something about the sector size being hard coded in the software in an old post from 2009…
