Hello!
No i didn’t get any answer about my question through the forum… but i sent a mail directly to Digi support Wizards. Just have a look to what follows; this is a copy and paste of the answer of my mail; do not hesitate to recontact me if that does not answer your question :
Hello ,
before we start to answer your questions please update the Integration Kit via the Online update Program. Some of the functionality that you are asking for are included with in the latest version. Also the serial Buffer selection (buffer between serial and network) has been added with in Firmware release (82000856_D) . This Version will be release very soon and will be available on our web site.
Please see below our answers to your questions :
1* What is the size of the network buffer? and of the serial buffer?
The network buffers are fixed and can not be changed. On the serial site you can have up to 1KByte of Buffers that can be triggered by size and time . This is implemented in Firmware version 82000856_D.
2* Can I access to and control these buffer from an applet? or an application running through Windows and using a special protocol?
You can access the serial buffers via the new web UI included in version 82000856_D whoever it is not possible to control the buffer through a special protocol.
3* What does the Web server support? which methods (GET, POST, HEAD)? “server side” required processing (CGI)?
The Integration Kit will only allow you to use and modify the included Java applet. All server methods are hard coded and not accessible. The Development Kit Advanced Web Server API will support (GET, POST, HEAD) and external CGI processing.
4* Is it possible to use one pin of the GPIO as serial transmit or receive?
Not with the Integration Kit. With the Development Kit is would be possible to program this functionality.
6* Which protocole can i use on serial port? is it possible to use non character protocole? I mean is it possible to assert a pin high during 1 second and to put it down during 6 seconds… Or it needs to adapt the firmware to my application? how can i do this? With the development kit?
Also here it would be necessary to customize the Digi Connect ME with the Development Kit. The Integration Kit will not support this functionality.
7* Is it possible to configure the component through the serial interface?
Yes. With RCI it is possible to configure the Digi Connect ME through the serial port.
