Pin PE4/TCLKE on Rabbit 6700

I have noticed that Pin ‘PE4’ is TCLKE on the 6700 module, but this pin does not exist on the pinout table at all. The only place this pin is referred to would be on page 35 of the entire MiniCore RCM5700/RCM6700 user’s manual.

I am only using the serial I/O for my application do any of the T/RCLK pins have any effect on my application since it is only serial comm based? I would think that for a pure serial I/O the clk should not be used because they are meant for parallel comm.

I think these clock pins options only come into play if you are using serial port E or F for HDLC serial comms. Under normal circumstances the pins in question would be used for other functions.

Peter

Ok that makes sense. The only question now is where is Pin PE4, the TCLKE can use either Pin PE4 or Pin PC4 but PC4 in my application is used as TXB. Anyways I think this is more of a support question to digi. Thanks for you help. Have a great day!

The details on the R6000 pin functions for parallel port E are in http://ftp1.digi.com/support/documentation/90001108_b.pdf page 124.

According to the RCM6700 block diagram at http://ftp1.digi.com/support/documentation/5500144204_a.pdf

PE4 is not connected.

Peter
