PPP over XBee-PRO 868 connection?

Hi all,

I am wondering if we could establish a ppp link between two systems using these radios and communicate normally as if the link was made with a serial line.
Has anyone tested this configuration?
How did it work out?
Is there any specific configuration of the radio interface for this application?
I have tried this, it is not working very well. I have big performance issues (I am at 2 meters distance)!
What could be the problem?

If I’m correct the manual says minimum distance is about 7 meters.
Also, think there is nothing to prevent packet loss (so no guaranteed reliable delivery). I think PPP needs this, but I’m not sure.
