Serial open failed

Hello, we currenty have an older solaris server which is printing through a digi 16, using port 11. When I try to print the same from a new Solaris build I am getting a message “Serial open failed port 11”. Has anyone seen an issue like this or does anyone have an idea of what may cause this?

I am able to print from my new Solaris server directly to a network printer, so printing seems to work OK. It’s when going to the digi we have the issue.

If you are using 8 wire serial cabling to attach your printer, you will need to likely use the altpin setting to force DCD high. From the PortServer root prompt:

set flow altpin=on range=(port#)
