Significance of the 8.2pF filter cap for XBee

,

What is the significance of the 8.2pF filter cap for XBee VCC that is specified in the manual along with the 1uF? Why such a tiny value? Any harm in using a larger, more common one like 0.01uF or 0.1uF?

Just asking since this will be the only 8.2pF cap in our circuit and creates havoc in our BOM and have to get another reel in the PnP machine, etc.

The smaller value is so that higher frequencies are decoupled as well. Have a look at this page that explains decoupling quite well: Bypassing Caps
