Simple xbee (series 1) direct - xbee to xbee

I’m having a heck of a time simply getting two xbees (series 1) to talk to each other - as in push a button on 1, light up an led on 2.

Used the digi xbee examples…but with no zero luck…

Can some one help a desperate soul not spend the next day in frustration, with a good link to an example, or let me know what’s wrong with the digi xbee examples

Just provide same PAN ID to both of your modules manually and they will get connected.
