I’ve seen 199 degrees, but then it went right to 70 degrees, green light, with the ‘oven’ still on. Maybe a rollover bug? Once the ‘oven’ turned off, the temp shot back up to the 180 range, then cooled down.
Haha, it is a bit subjective. I don’t have temperature calibration stuff and the Modicon reads in 4-20mA as a rather arbitrary integer between like 250 and 3500. So I fudged the conversion until it looked Ok given room temperature.
But don’t worry, the “oven” isn’t really 200 degrees - thermocouple sensors are mounted about an 1/8th inch away from some halogen lamps - which needless to say radiate pretty hot when lit. So you’re just seeing radiated heat pickup. The instant the lamps turn off, a pair of fans blow air across the rear of the thermocouples to cool them down faster.
There are 2 lamps, 2 sensors, and 2 fans; plus the Modicon selects the hotter of the 2 sensors to treat as the temperature.
