Solaris 10 X86 Driver Install Broken?

After using the 400000957_p.bin package to install Solaris 10 x86 drivers for the 84 920 PCI card, it appears that no devices were created. Is the install package broken? I’ve try uninstalling and installing several times w/o any luck.

I don’t see any /dev/dty devices or any symbolic links in /dev/term and /dev/cua to any other device.

That is the correct driver, but its 32-bit only. Are you trying to install this on 64-bit architecture?

Here’s the output from isainfo

64-bit amd64 applications
sse3 sse2 sse fxsr amd_3dnowx amd_3dnow amd_mmx mmx cmov amd_sysc cx8
tsc fpu
32-bit i386 applications
sse3 sse2 sse fxsr amd_3dnowx amd_3dnow amd_mmx mmx cmov amd_sysc cx8
tsc fpu

I did some digging and discovered that the 64 bit kernel boots by default. Are there any options for running a 64bit kernel?

Yes, there is a beta/pre-release available. Here’s the link for it:

ftp://ftp1.digi.com/support/beta/solaris/epca_intel-sparc.pkg

Just save this as a binary, then install with pkgadd -d /path/filename
