TCP-LISTEN in Digi One SP

Dear,

I would like to find some information about the possibility to use the DIGI ONE SP with the TCP-Listen mode. I’m not capable to find a suitable manual in the website. Is it possible to use this functionality with this device in order to initiate connections?

Thanks in advance.
Xavier.

I’m not sure what you mean by TCP-Listen mode. If you mean setting up your Digi One SP as a TCP Socket server, yes, this is one of the serial port profile selections in the Web UI.

Hi again,
I haven’t explained the problem properly.
This is the scenario PC-ADSL1<->Internet<->ADSL2-Digi-DataDevice. I want to keep the PC as a server but the point is that they work in a different nets. In this situation the Digi should initiate the connection in order to reach the PC using NAT in ADSL1’s router.

Thanks.
Xavier.

It sounds as though you will want to configure autoconnect on the Digi One SP to connect with the server. From the root prompt of the unit:

#> set ports dev=term auto=on dest=(IP_of_server) ra=1

As long as the ADSL router/modem is configured as the gateway for the Digi One SP, it should reach the server fine with different subnets.

#> set config gateway=(IP_of_ADSL)
