Hi,
I've just connected the Watchport/T device to my personal computer, using Windows XP Pro, in order to test its capability, before installing it on our server. Everything seems to work correctly although the method of opening the Watchport Manager is hokey.
So...I use Yahoo for my email, sending and receiving through Outlook 2003. My outgoing mail is smtp.mail.yahoo.com, my incoming is pop.mail.yahoo.com. The mail does not require Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
Both incoming and outgoing servers require an encrypted connection (SSL). I've loaded my username and password into the setup information of the Watchport Manager. Recently, Yahoo changed the port numbers on the servers. Incoming is 995 and outgoing is 465.
I know I've left out something that you'll ask me, but this is the skinny so far. When I send a test for the email, nothing happens, that I'm aware of. It shows, by the message, that it's sending a test, but it could sit there all day if I let it. So what's the secret to this. I know it's either something easy or I'm not going to get this done. Actually, without the notification feature of this device, it's worthless and will go back to Digi.
If there is a past topic on this, I couldn't find it, and I apologize for taking up your time, again, if there is.
Thanks…Vince
