Why doesn't the XBee (S2C Pro) current change when I change the PL value?

Hello, I bought two S2C Pro modules (XBP24CZ7UIT-004 revA). X-CTU software reads the parameter PL (power level), it says about PL “there Select/Read transmitter output power. Approximate power levels: 0= +10dBm, 1= +12dBm, 2= +14dBm, 3= +16dBm, 4= +18dBm.” So I consider that the XBee module power consumption will change by setting different PL value. I measure the current through the XBee module Pin 1. However, the current doesn’t change when the PL is changed. If the module is set END DEVICE, the current is always about 10 mA. If the module is set ROUTER, the current is always about 30mA. By the way , this moudle communicates successfully with another module COORDINATOR.

Later, I bought two S2 modules (XB24-Z7UIT-004 revJ). The current also doesn’t change when PL is changed.

Is it because the modules I bought don’t support the PL parameter? If so, what kind modules support it?

The PL command only affects the RF Output with respect to how loud the RF signal is. It does not affect the current draw the module uses to generate that output.
