Will Dynamic C 9.24 work under Windows 11?

We need to know if Dynamic C 9.24, and it’s various tools, will work correctly with Windows 11? Our other option is to pay for extended update coverage to Microsoft.

I did see the note where Dynamic C 9.62A was tested on Windows 11, I am not sure what issues we might run into moving to that version. Years ago one of our engineers ran into compiler issues with a version later than 9.24.

See my answer to your other recent question about upgrading from 9.24 to 9.62A. There may have been issues with some of the releases between 9.24 and 9.62, but I feel that 9.62A has stood the test of time.

Both Dynamic C 9.62 and 10.72 work with Windows 11. I even run it in Windows 11 ARM in a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop on my Mac without any trouble. I don’t see any reason that 9.24 would fail in Windows 11. My only recommendation is to install the latest FTDI drivers instead of the drivers included with the Dynamic C installer.

Your biggest challenge might be performing a fresh install of 9.24. It could be a release that requires registration codes, and you won’t be able to obtain them at this point.

If you’re actively developing your firmware and need to recompile, then I recommend trying to build your app with 9.62A on a Windows 11 machine. If you are only using a compiled binary from the past, you can use the version of RFU from 9.62A to install that binary.
