Dynamic C 9.62 installtion on a windows 7 PC

Hi,

Iam trying to install Dynamic C 9.62 setup on a windows 7 PC. I have rabbit RCM3900 chipset.

After successful installtion of dynamic C 9.62, when i plug in the USB cable, the drivers does not get installed. I get the error message : “Device driver software was not properly installed”.

The Device Manager shows a yellow exclaimation mark Under the USB Serial Bus controller – USB Serial Converter.

When i click on update driver manually at browse to the CD provided, I get the message saying: the best driver software for your device has already been installed.

I have also visited www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm and downloaded the lastest drivers 2.8.24.0 which is mentioned as compatible with windows 7. After updating to this lastest driver also, iam having the same issue.

Please advise on how to proceed.

There are uissues with Windows 7 drivers competing with Dynamic C drivers for the programming cable. I quick way arounf this is to:

  1. Uninstall Dynamic C
  2. Attach your Rabbit to your PC with power applied.
  3. re-install Dynamic C
