X-CTU can't read XBP24BSE firmware/parameters

Hello.

I’m using X-CTU to configure a pair of XBee 2.5 Pro radio devices.

Trying to read the firmware from X-CTU always fails because it reports that firmware is not in the database. I’ve updated the firmware database but the result is the same.

When I test the connection (from PC settings tab) it reports all data OK.

Also, if I set the modem type, function set and parameters manually I can flash the chip correctly, I after that I can use it normally.

Do you know what the problem could be?

Regards.

Hi,

I have had similar happenings a while ago. It was baud rate mismatching.

That’s just my experience. Hope it helps.

And with the baud rate mismatch did you succeded uploading parameters/firmware?

AMAIK, Xbee has a through hole baud rate in the serial receiver. Once I accidentally misuploaded a wrong firmware, it was supposed to be 26A0 or 27A0, it became a module that receives updates only by remote and shuts the serial ports. Then I send it to the support but they updated a firmware just by some baud rate of direct serial communication. So, AMAIK, in some case, it receives updates but doesn’t transmit from the serial port.

What is your firmware version?

Hope it helps,
Andy
