XBee RSSI readings

Hi,

I’m trying to obtain RSSI readings from different XBee 1mW series 1 modules. However, I’m finding inconsistency in the readings. After 2m, the RSSI readings never go beyond -55 dBm. Instead, they start jumping back and forth. What could be the problem?

That would be the result of the Noise floor in your area that you are reading. You can verify this by running a cable between the two antenna ports and no less than 40 to 60db of attenuation.
