I have a text packet ending with LF (0x0A). If I edit the text packet to make it longer the editor changes the LF to CR (0x0D). So the user must use the Hex editor to change the CR back to LF.

Try using API mode 2.

The problem is that XCTU is changing the packet in the packet editor.

That is because XCTU does not support the function LF which is not supported by All terminal emulators.
