diver is installed properly and the USB connector used is also working properly so what might be the problem?
What board are you connecting the XBee modules to?
What baud rate are you trying to interface it at?
I am using adapter board(Xbee USB module from NEX Robotics) for connecting the Zigbee module and I am trying to interface it at 9600 baud rate.

That board is not designed to connect the XBee to a PC with. That board is designed to connect a 2mm pitch Xbee to a 0.1" bread board or other board running at 3V.
