just recently bought the xbee starter kit…

can i use this device to control the comm port pin on the remote?
what i really wanted to achieve is to send a signal to a stepper motor driver using the comm port so i can control it remotely.
i just want to use it like an ordinary remote control that could send 4 digital output signals. i bought this product because i thought it was very simple and easy to use.
