AnywhereUSB and RapidPort fax problems

Hello,

We currently have a RapidPort/4 (4-port USB modem) connected to a AnywhereUSB box. We are using the 4 modem ports as fax lines using Windows Shared fax on Windows 2003 Server. For some reason, most incoming faxes end up with one or more lines that are truncated (i.e. the line height seems to be compressed.) We have another RapidPort/4 box in the same configuration except without the AnywhereUSB box that does not exhibit the same behaviour. This leads me to believe that there is some sort of problem between the AnywhereUSB box and the RapidPort. Is there any known issues or any configuration options that can help us resolve this?

Thanks,

Dana

The AnywhereUSB being in the mix shouldn’t make a difference, especially related to this kind of symptom.

What firmware version are each of the Rapidports running? You can determine this by issuing the “ati” command if you connect directly to one of the COM ports, or by querying the modem via Phone and Modem Options in Control Panel. They should be something like 4.18o, 4.25f or 1.32j.

Also, what is the 50xxxxxx part number and revision for each of those Rapidports?

Are you using an initialization string? If so, what is the string, and is it the same for each Rapidport or not?
