AnywhereUSB - VM Ware not connecting

I’m having difficulties getting my vmware esx server to connect to the anywhereusb device.
I found the thread from Kendall and followed, those steps, including copying the usbd.sys driver from a physical server over to the vm server and rebooted.

AnywhereUSB detects the device - but when I try to connect to it - I never receive the prompts asking me to install the drivers. It just stops. The status shows: connecting to this computer…

When the device is discovered - the right pane shows the ip

I’ve tried setting the logs to review any error messages but am unable get any error messages.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Bob,

If you take a look at the picture you sent me it has 0.0.0.0 for the IP address and subnet mask.

You need to make sure your AnywhereUSB is properly configured for your network.

Please just use a static IP address by using the configure button and give the AnywhereUSB an IP address that will be addressable by your NIC. If you can then install the hardware completely try using DHCP again.
Let me know how it turns out

I’ve set the drivers up for static IP. I am still not able to “Find the new Hardware”. After selecting the connect button, the device issues a status “Connecting to this computer…” then never comes back. We are able to connect to the device from a laptop - so I’m not sure if this is a network issue or a VM issue.
I’ve included a screen shot of the current view with the IP addresses

Thanks.

There most likely is one of two (or both) things happening. The NIC card you have on that virtual machine is not configured properly based on your AnywhereUSB so it can “connect to it” OR you have something blocking TCP traffic on port 3422 (most likely)

Do you happen to have any Windows Firewall (or 3rd party) firewall software running on this system?

Mike,
Probably. I’m reaching out to the network engineering group to determine what it is. I’ll forward your post to them.
