Can ANYWHERE USB Hub be used with a barcode scanner with USB connection but running in USB COM Port Emulation

Can ANYWHERE USB Hub be used with a barcode scanner with USB connection but running in USB COM Port Emulation so that programs can interface to a virtual com port.We do not want to use the barcode reader as keyboard wedge, which is the default, but red the data via com port. This feature works well with usb hubs that plug into host usb. Cannot get it to work with ANYWHERE USB Hub. Get the famous Windows cannot load the driver required for the device (Code 31).
Windows 7, AW-USB-2 Anywhere USB.
Barcode reader is Honeyqell 4600 G.
Works fine when running in USB keyboard mode will not work when switched to USB Com Port Emulation mode.

Theoretically, this should be possible.

Have you tried updating the AWUSB and barcode scanner drivers to the most current version, as well as the AWUSB firmware, to see if that helps?

If so, have you tried enabling the “Use Microsoft Device ID” feature to see if that helps? (Note: If you enable this feature, be sure to Disconnect from the AWUSB then Connect back to the AWUSB for it to take affect.)
