Does anyone know how to directly connect the XRT-M to your computer to change the APN on the device? With the Connect Sensor+ you could use Putty and with a Serial connection at Baud Rate of 115200 you could communicate with the device. That is not working with the newer XRT-M.
Thanks!
Hello @kfrancoisking , nice to see you posting here (I see you created a support case as well, so I’ll answer here for the benefit of all, then Zach will reply you in the case).
Since you’re familiar with how to locally config the Connect Sensor+, the XRT-M offers a similar capability via the USB interface of the device (currently undocumented, but I put in a request to get it added to the User Guide).
I would go with the same baud and other settings you used to access the CS+, and here are some commands I’m aware of which may be of use to you:
status - get the current status
custom apn= - set the apn
custom clear - clear custom settings
activate - active custom settings
fwupdate - firmware update
My request with our Publications people is to document the entire commandset (if other commands exist beyond the above), but the above should get you started, and allow you to program your APN.
Michael,
Thank you for the response. I went with the usual settings in Putty and was unable to connect.
“Serial” mode
COM4 (the com port for the xrtm after plugging in)
Baud Rate: 115200
Any ideas? I believe 115200 was used for the original CS+
Hi Keenen,
Actually, Zach passed along the following link to me (he’ll send it in your case as well), which indicates that 19200 is the default serial baud:
https://www.digi.com/resources/documentation/digidocs/90002498/default.htm#tasks/cs-config-serial-port.htm?Highlight=baud%20rate
Hope it helps!
Hey Michael,
I believe that is referring to the serial port for reading sensor data wired to the XRT-M. I tried a baud rate of 19200 and that did not work either.
