Connect two ConnectPort LTS 16 together

We need to connect two LTS 16s in succession to test a customer setup.
I think we need a cross-over cable to connect Port 1 on Digi-1 to Port 1 on Digi-2

Does each Digi also need the port or other settings to be configured a certain way from the web interface?

Hello @stanj , to connect two ConnectPort LTS serial ports together, you basically need a null-modem serial cable between the serial ports, since the ConnectPort LTS serial ports are type: DTE.

The following cable pinout should be the one you’re looking for:

Note: If the DCD signal is needed on RJ45 pin 1 (instead of the DSR signal), enable the Altpin parameter for the serial port where that is needed.

As for the serial port config settings, it really depends on what you’ll be doing with the serial ports, but my guess is that Serial Port Profile: TCP Sockets (configured appropriately as a client or server) is likely what you’d want to try first.

Thanks. We are going to be testing to have one VM communicate to another VM via the serial connection

This is a representation of a customer setup that is using physical servers and the LTS 16s.
