Connecting an XBee to a non XBee device

I want to connect a XBee device to a doorsensor from samotech but XCTU can’t establish a connection to the sensor.
It says the sensor is available and active but if i wanna read the data there is an error, saying that the device is sleeping or not in the network.

Can i even connect a non Digi or non XBee device or is this impossible?

XCTU can only read Digi products on the configuration tab. You can use API mode and the terminal console to send API frames to read data from the sensor. Just know that you are going to need to know the Zigbee protocol and what cluster ID’s, end points and data to send.
