Use of XBee Sensor with 3rd party gateway

I am trying to see if I can get an XBee sensor to connect to a 3rd party gateway. I only have the Digi XBee Sensor ZB Bat/L/T and do not have a Digi Gateway.

Is it possible for me to configure the settings on the XBee to talk to the 3rd party gateway w/out any other hardware? If so can you point me in the direction of a post/manual?

No, you are going to need to have at minimum an XBee module and interface board or an XBee XStick ZB to first allow it to associate. Then you can use over the air commands to adjust the ZS parameter to allow it to talk to 3rd party networks.
