ConnectPort X2 firmware upgrade?

Talking by phone today with Jay in the Utah office, he suggests calling the Minnesota office to help update the firmware on our ConnectPort X2 prior to bringing our XB24-B modules up to function set “ZNET 2.5 Router/End Device AT” (version 1241). Our gateway is currently:

Model: ConnectPort X2
Firmware: 2.6.4 (Version 82001596_A 09/27/2007)

Is there a danger of ‘bricking’ the gateway? Or is just that the needed firmware isn’t publicly available yet?

Cheers,
Darran.

The firmware version you mentioned in your post is the EOS firmware of the CP-X2, and has nothing to do with the firmware running on the radio found within the CP-X2. The radio firmware would have to be updated seperately by removing the radio from the CP-X2, then updating it via X-BIB/X-CTU.

Here’s a link where both firmwares can be obtained:

You can also update the firmware of a radio module inside the device from the web interface of the device(if it supports) under XBee Networks section.
