Digi Acceleport 8R 920 - Drops Com Ports

Hi everyone,

I am running an 8R 920 port with modems connected on every channel. I have observed that occasionally one channel will “lock” and not do anything at all. Even resetting the modem & PC doesn’t bring it back to life. However, it just decides to kick back in and work.

I have observed this on a number of 8R 920 cards. Has anyone else noticed this, and if so what is the cure ?

Sounds like possibly a flow control issue.

Modems typically use hardware flow control. Are the settings for the serial port set to RTS/CTS flow control? Are you using a fully pinned cable? Are you using the latest driver for whatever operating system you’ve installed this in?
