DIGI C/Con Digi Boards

We run two digis on a UNIX 5.0.7 DELL server. All has been fine, but today the digis lock up for no reason. The print jobs hold in a que. The only fix is to re-boot the server. The digis reset and the print jobs print. This has happened 6 times today. Any ideas?

Hard to say on that one, but you might want to keep an eye on the LED display of the c/con to see if its power-cycling or something.

The (AC) lights are on and normal, but nothing will print. After re-boot, everything prints fine until it locks up again. Could it be the DIGI card?

You can check the adapter status when it is locked up by typing “dpa” from the root prompt of the SCO host.

What am I checking for using “dpa” at the prompt?

Look under the status column. It will indicate the adapter status.

What should the status say? Do we type “dpa” at the # sign?

The status should say “OK” if the adapter is up and running.

Yes, you would type “dpa” at the # prompt.

Just type “dpa” at the commandline when logged onto the server as root. This will give you a status of the adapter and/or serial ports.
