Digi CM 48 firmware 1.9.5.3 no ssh access

Hi,
Since upgrading to 1.9.5.3 I tested that https and ssh access was working, I’ve come back from a break and now I cannot get ssh access to the device, the connection is actively refused.

https still works and all the settings are correct, rebooting didn’t work, downgrading to 1.9.5 hasn’t worked.

I’m currently downgrading back to 1.9.3 to see if this works.

Has anyone else seen this or has a resolution?

Doing a nmap scan of the device does not list port 22 as open although ssh is enabled.

For information it turns out that someone had deleted the nobody system account that sshd runs under.

restoring an old user config backup has restored access to the devices.
