I have a question regarding Digi Connect SP. How can one test if the serial port is working. I was thinking of just connecting RS232 port to the computer and then try with Terminal. I tried this using the modem cable but it does not work.
Can someone give some suggestions?

If you have the device connected to a system and Hyper terminal running, you should be able to shoot data, key strokes whatever to the Virtual Comm# on the server or Realport software side.
I have used it this way in the past and should prove the point.
