How can I test my Digi serial ports to verify that they work?

hallo i am new,
and my problem is on a PortServer II it happens periodicaly one port freeze the terminal which is connected…
Usually we turn off and turn on the DigiPort.
But i was wondering if there is another option (should be) to turn off and after some seconds turn on again the port ONLY and not all the DigiPort cause there are more terminals connected which is a big problem to find all users to turn off their terminals…
I appreciate any opinion or sulution you may have!
