FXMC USB Neural Network Controller 3.0 flapping on AnywhereUSB 8 Plus

Hello everyone,

I have an license dongle witch appear as “FXMC USB Neural Network Controller 3.0” in device manager and want it to provide in VMware virtual machine on our cluster. If I plug it directly in to host and forward in to VM it works perfectly. But it’s not good solution in clustered environment. So I’m trying to use our AnywhereUSB 8 Plus (FW v 25.5.52.25) for it. I forwarded this USB device in to VM and it looks good (attached screenshot) until I enable it. After enabling it starts flapping: appear/disappear in device manager and AnywhereUSB manager. Where can be a problem?

There a records from syslog:

For troubleshooting purposes and to get another data point, could you put some other type of USB device - even a USB mouse or keyboard - in place of this one (the same USB port) to see what happens, and then let us know?

Hi,

Thank you for a quick response. We did a check as you suggested: we put standard HP keyboard in to the same port 2 and it correctly shows in VM:

It’s not flapping as USB dongle before and it works as should: you can type anything in VM console.

Also we try to put USB dongle in to other ports - same behavior.

Good morning,

I suggest updating the AWUSB Plus firmware to the latest 26.2 LTS release to see if that helps. Note that this firmware is currently in pre-production, so it’s not yet available on our support site but it should be soon. In the meantime, you can use Digi Remote Manaager to download the latest 26.2 LTS firmware (via the Firmware link on the left, once logged into Digi RM). If you do not already have a Digi RM account, you can create a free “firmware only” one there - go to https://remotemanager.digi.com

Good morning too,

Thank you for suggestion. I will try it, but only after I will solve a problem with Digi Remote Manager account creation: I can’t create it. When I enter MAC address and Default Device Password from a sticker on device I get error below. Probably this device is already registered on another email that I don’t know. Could you help me to solve this problem?

Good morning,

I think you clicked the wrong link, you should click the “Request firmware access” link (which should bring you here: Digi Remote Manager ).

Good day Jeremy and everyone,

You are right: i clicked on a wrong link. Now I downloaded firmware 26.2 and magic! USB dongle is working now! Thank you, Jeremy for quick support.
