I have an XBEE Pro ZB 2SC module with a whip antenna. Is it possible to connect an external antenna to the pads on the module? It looks like I should be able to solder an SMA jack to the board, but I’ve seen people say it’s not doable.Is there a way to remove the whip antenna and connect my external antenna instead via soldering the coax cable to the board?
I would not recommend doing so. It is possible that doing so will decrease your range and lead to poor performance. The boards are designed in such a way to maximize range for that antenna. There are other XBee variants with different antennas too.
