How to reset Xbee S6B to default configurations?

Good evening !

I tried to reset my Xbee S6B to default configuration by disconnecting from evaluation board, after this was connected DIN to GND, after this conected to my evaluation board and after this was given voltage by USB from laptop.

In this time power LED ( red ) is lighting and DIN LED ( green ) blinking. How I can to restore my Xbee module to command mode ? ( the “+++” command does not give OK ) ?

My regards,
Maxim

I am using Nucleo board and communicating with Xbee module using HAL_UART_Receive() command. It returns HAL_TIMEOUT. What could be the reason?

I tried to solve the problem with XCTU, but I can’t do it because my Xbee is connected to the Nucleo board via UART, and not directly to the USB port of the laptop

I am not surer you can. In order for the XBee to talk to XCTU, you need to have the DI and DO connected to the PC with the proper voltage levels. May I suggest you obtain a Digi interface board to work from. It will give you the ability to connect the radio to the PC and XCTU. It will also give you a known good point to work from.

Hello !

I bought an adapter board for my Xbee and installed XCTU. It shows up in XCTU, but I can’t download and install firmware for it. What I’m doing wrong ? I’m attaching a screenshot

XCTU needs to have an internet connection to https:ftp1.digi.com - /support/firmware/. Make sure you can access this site via a browser.

Yes, this link opens in the browser. It opens a list of files for download. What should I do to make Xbee download this firmware ?

I disabled the firewall in my Eset antivirus, but it didn’t help…

My model of Xbee is Xbee S6B…

In the Function line on the screenshot it says - 2021 - Not found in XTCU…

The Update Library window have option - Update from the file. Can you, Eric, send to me this file ?

what I would suggest is that you download the zipped file from Digi XBee Wi-Fi Support Resources

Once downloaded, use the Help> update firmware library> Install from file and brows to the Zip file above. Once installed, you should be able to read your radio.

Thank you, Eric.

I installed legacy firmware and my XTCU finally started and read Xbee parameters. Can you advise me what parameters should be changed, except for the WiFi network name and password?

I’m going to start sending and receiving short text messages between my Xbee and my laptop over WiFi. Like “Hello, world!”

Good evening, Eric !

I try to write down the name and password of my WiFi, but it gives the following error.

How to fix it ?

What kind of encryption are you using on your network?

In my laptop, in the Wi Fi settings says that WPA2-Personal

Make sure that your modules EE is set to 2. Then issue an Active Scan (AS) command to see if you can locate and join the network.

Eric, I tried to do this, but any attempt to write a parameter or attempt to perform Active Scan gives a Connection Timeout error. How can I fix this ?

:-(((

And what is AI = 0x40 ? It’s information missing in the User Manual…

Yes it is in the manual at XBee Wi-Fi RF Module User Guide
