Multitech modem under SCO

Have a customer attempting to connect a Multi-Tech modem to a AccelePort 16em adapter. No matter what I’ve tried, I can’t get the modem to respond.

We’re using a Digi cable for the connection.

I can connect using “cu -l ttya01” but get no response at all from the various “AT” commands I’ve tried.

I suspect this is something simple, but am at the end of my rope for what else to try.

I’ve looked at the knowlege base document that discusses configuring multitech modems under Unix, but it instructs to issue AT commands to the modem, which don’t affect anything.

Someone please help before I go insane!!!

Here are the current port settings:

Forgot to mention…

This is OpenServer 5.0.4.

Thanks.

The first thing you’ll want to do is verify that the port works. Try connecting a loopback plug (shipped with our products) in the port rather than the modem cable, and see if what you are typing is echoed in your cu connection.

If it is, port is good and you should take a look at the cable between your port and the modem or the modem itself. If it doesn’t echo, you’ll want to call Tech Support to make arrangements for RMA.
