need carification on XBee S2B

The cut sheet indicates programmable what is programmable. Is the device type programmable for example one cycle poll time the device acts as a router
to connect to others the next cycle time it acts as end device as it has no routing obligations and thus can be in sleep mode.

Is there a way to match firmware ID to device type, there are many devices with same name?

I have a software routine for configuration codes for XBee series 2 in AP1 and AP2Desktop/API CODE XBee.htm has this been re configured for S2B?

Thanks

When the word programmable is mentioned in connection with an XBee module, Digi is referring to a second processor from Freescale that is on the module. You program this processor using CodeWarrior which is available for download on the Digi website.

On programmable XBees you need to put the module into bypass mode in order to access the Ember radio on the device. Details on how to do this are at this link http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbaseresultdetl?id=3291.

You can determine whether the module is a programmable XBee by looking at the part number on the underside of the device.
