I have here a new Digi AccelePort 16p Adapter and want to know in which cases i need the Part . It looks like a terminator for the DB9M-Cables. Is it necessary to terminate the free portcables?

It sounds like that’s probably the loopback plug, which can be useful in troubleshooting whether or not a serial port is working. No termination is necessary for any of the serial ports on this product.
